Consultation differs from therapy in the following ways:
Often just 3-5 sessions.
Focused on problem-solving, action steps, and follow-up so you can put skills into action.
Consultation sessions work on 1-2 problem areas. These concerns may include communication skills, changing problem habits, or building motivation for an upcoming challenge.
Consultation services are covered by the same legal and ethical privacy as other therapy services. The same limitations to confidentiality apply as with other therapy services.
